STREET PHOTOGRAPHY FROM MUMBAI AND BEYOND
A Window, Many Hues
During the height of the pandemic, when I was under lockdown and couldn't step out, I needed an outlet for my photography. One evening in July 2020, I witnessed a stunning sunset where the light took on this incredible golden hue. It was the first time in many days that I lifted my camera and I tried to capture the urban landscape from my window in all its glory.
As I pressed the shutter, a bird flew into my frame and gifted me a beautiful moment. As I looked through the pictures of that day, I realised that I had never really paid attention to the view that I had. I decided then and there that I had to pay my respects to this window that allowed me to breathe even when everything else felt claustrophobic.
For the last 4 years, I have taken hundreds of pictures on and off whenever I found myself home and nature gave me magic.
This album is a little subset of this long-term project that I hope to continue as long as I live in my current place. This project is my way of showing that even if you witness the same view every single day, there can always be something new that comes out of it.
